NOGIN provides ecommerce technology and services for brands. To support the operational work behind online sales, NOI Technologies developed connected warehouse management, order management, and ecommerce capabilities using the Moqui Framework.
The project brought together areas that depend on shared order, product, and inventory information. This case study covers the development scope, how the WMS and OMS relate to ecommerce activity, and the role of Moqui in building the solution.
NOGIN supports brands with ecommerce technology and services. Its commerce operations involve more than the customer-facing shopping experience: orders must be handled, inventory information must be available, and fulfillment activity must be coordinated with the information captured online.
These functions need to work together as commerce requirements change. The development work with NOI Technologies focused on the systems and workflows connecting them.
An ecommerce experience depends on the systems behind it. Order information must be available to the teams and applications responsible for processing it, while inventory and fulfillment activity need to be reflected in the wider commerce workflow.
For NOGIN, the project called for warehouse management, order management, and ecommerce capabilities to work together. The development requirement was to support the relationships between these functions rather than treat each one as an isolated application.
NOI Technologies developed a Moqui-based solution covering WMS, OMS, and ecommerce capabilities for NOGIN. Each part of the scope addressed a different stage of commerce operations, while the overall development work connected the information those stages use.
The WMS portion addressed inventory and warehouse activity associated with fulfilling orders. It provided a way to manage warehouse work within the broader operational solution, where stock information has a direct relationship with order processing.
The OMS portion addressed how orders are managed after they enter the operational workflow. It connected order information with the inventory and fulfillment functions needed to process those orders.
The ecommerce portion supported the online commerce workflows linked to order and product information. Developing it alongside the OMS and WMS helped align the customer-facing and operational sides of the solution.
An ecommerce order creates work beyond the storefront. Order management handles the transaction as it moves through operational steps; inventory information informs what can be processed; and warehouse workflows support the fulfillment activity that follows.
NOI's development work addressed these relationships within NOGIN's solution. The project scope connected commerce, order management, and warehouse functions so they could be developed as parts of a coordinated operational workflow.
The Moqui Framework provided tools for developing data models, business services, screens, access controls, and integrations. NOI used that foundation for the application development required by NOGIN's WMS, OMS, and ecommerce scope.
Moqui supplied the development framework. The design and implementation of the connected business capabilities were NOI's work.
NOI developed connected WMS, OMS, and ecommerce capabilities for NOGIN using Moqui. The delivered scope brought order, inventory, warehouse, and commerce work into a coordinated solution that could be developed further as requirements evolved.
